2007 Walk Calendar

9 September 2007--Registration, Short Talk and Short Walk, 3pm, Boyd Lecture Auditorium

22 September 2007--Hike sponsored by the UU Fellowship and the Estes

The SKUUF fall hike will be Saturday, September 22 to the summit of Mt. Cardigan. We will hike up from the Cardigan State Park parking lot, reached via a road off Route 118. The distance to the summit is 1.5 miles; a 3 mile round trip. The difficulty of the hike is easy to moderate. The summit of Mt. Cardigan is a bare rock with fantasic all around views. We may be able to climb up the fire tower.

We will gather at the UU Meetinghouse on Fairgrounds Road at 10:00 a.m. and car pool to the trailhead. Bring along a sandwich, some water, a jacket or warm shirt. If it is a brisk and windy fall day, pack hats and gloves/mittens. For information call Gigi and Paul Estes at 536-2176.

29 September 2007--

Hike up Mooselauke. Meet in Boyd Hall Parking lot at 9 am. Mooselauke is a 4,000 footer, so be prepared for wind, etc. on top. We will probably hike up the Carriage Trail. This hike will be ten miles round trip, so bring lunch and snacks as it will require lots of energy.
